Joe Lanzoni, Vice President of Sales Engineering at Lightning Eliminators (LEC), recently brought his expertise to an international stage, participating in a high-profile panel at a US-Peru trade event. The Trade and Investment Opportunities with Peru event was held on November 19, 2025, at the World Trade Center Denver.
The event was organized by the World Trade Center Denver and featured the Consul General of Peru in Denver, Pedro Pablo Delgado Hinostroza. The event celebrated the 200th anniversary of U.S.-Peru diplomatic relations and the 25th anniversary of the Consulate General of Peru in Denver.
Invited to participate in a panel discussion, Joe represented the perspective of small businesses in Colorado exporting to Peru, sharing firsthand insights from LEC’s experience in the Peruvian market. By sharing practical insights and real-world experiences, he not only represented LEC but also contributed to a broader dialogue on expanding trade opportunities between the United States and Peru.
Joe highlighted LEC’s journey doing business in Peru meeting the lightning protection needs of Peruvian oil and gas operators, from oil and natural gas production to transportation and refining sectors.
He noted that one of LEC’s primary exports to Peru is the Retractable Grounding Assembly® (RGA®), which provides unparalleled lightning strike protection for floating roof crude oil storage tanks. There are currently over 17,000 RGAs from Lightning Eliminators in service today protecting floating roof storage tanks from lightning strikes, keeping customers running through the storm.
Joe’s participation underscores LEC’s commitment to international markets and highlights the value of small business voices in international commerce. Over the past decade, about half of LEC’s revenues have come from exports, demonstrating the company’s strong international footprint for a business of its size.
